Strategy Q2 FY2026: $8.22 billion net loss on bitcoin write-down
Strategy's second quarter of fiscal 2026 was a bitcoin story, not a software story: revenue rose 6.9% to $122.4 million, but an $8.32 billion unrealized loss on digital assets turned $81.6 million of gross profit into an $8.22 billion net loss. Strip out that write-down and the software business still ran at a small shortfall, because R&D of $23.1 million plus SG&A of $74.0 million were larger than gross profit. Verdict: Neutral.
